I was planning to use the Mac mini as a NAS, but the Orico MiniMate 40 keeps disconnecting. Unusable for servers.
So far so good. Love the look of the product and how it simplifies my desk space. Great price for the value, and I would definitely recommend the product to others.
The Orico Minimate works well. It is very fast and simple to setup. However, the shape of the unit is not exactly the same as the Mac Mini (close). Please look closely ant the curvature-radius. In addition, it was formatted to FatEX instead of APFS. my photo library would not work on it until I reformatted the drive. Took some time to figure it out. Still a great value considering Apple’s wildly expensive internal storage options.
I received my 4TB MiniMate a couple of weeks ago. Everything went well from ordering to installing it. It fits neatly below my Mac Mini M4 Pro. It's fast and so far reliable.
The MiniMate is an excellent addition to my Mac Mini M4. The design fits perfectly with my Mac and extra storage space is great. I saved money on more Storage space when going with MiniMate versus buy a Mac Mini with a large SSD drive. Transferring files is great, I’m thinking of purchasing some Orico other products.
