ORICO Y20 2.5 Inch SATA High-Capacity SSD

I'm very please with how this SSD has worked for me so far. I can't comment on it's longevity yet since I've only used it for a few weeks, but so far so good!Not much to say other than it is doing the job for me reliably so far. I don't anticipate any problems for a long time to come. I'm certainly happy with its transfer speeds in comparison to the 5400 rpm HDD that it replaced in my laptop! The laptop feels like it is running much faster - both because it's not waiting for the data to rotate to underneath the read heads of the HDD, but also because I put a fresh install of W10 on it (along with the updates from MSFT) so it's not suffering from software rot because of all of the updates and program changes that happen over the months and years of a pc's normal life!

I received this ORICO NAND SSD Solid State Drive in size 128 GB in July 2024. The item I received matched the Amazon product page description and pictures. I got this SSD drive to try to make an old Windows 10 computer on its last legs run faster. After transferring my computer's files to this SSD drive and booting my computer up with it, the speed has greatly increased. Both the boot up time and just general purpose computer use is noticeably faster. So this SSD drive definitely helped this computer last a little longer since it is more usable now. In terms of the speed performance, I don't want to try to give specific read/write times with my computer since the motherboard is so old. I don't think the results would be representative of the maximum performance the SSD drive can do. So I can only speak to how the read/write speed feels after converting my computer to using it and the speed is definitely fast to me in both reads and writes. Only time will tell how long the drive will last. So far it installed good, runs good, and I didn't notice any manufacturing defects with the drive so far. If you are looking for a low cost SSD drive to breathe new life into an old computer, I think this SSD drive is definitely worth considering.

I recently installed the Orico 128 GB SATA SSD in my test bench (i7, B250, 16GB DDR4) as a Windows 10 boot drive, and it works as advertised.The performance is right in line with the specs posted on the Amazon listing. I measured peak read/write speeds (SEQ1M) at 550/500 MB/s, respectively. This matches the claimed performance, which is nice to see.One thing to note is the warranty information. According to the included leaflet, the warranty is 3 years or 37.5 TBW. I'm assuming TBW stands for Terabytes Written, even though the leaflet says Total Bytes Written. This seems like a translation issue, as writing 37.5 bytes would void the warranty almost immediately.Overall, the Orico 128 GB SATA SSD is a solid choice for a budget-friendly boot drive, and hopefully, I'll never need to test the warranty limits.
